Thame to get its own thermal imaging camera

Cosy Thame has been awarded a grant to buy a thermal imaging camera for residents in Thame to use.

David Dawson from Thame Green Living set up Cosy Thame as a pilot project last winter to help residents reduce their heating costs, reduce their carbon footprints and make their homes cosier.

“There was a lot of enthusiasm for our thermal snapshot service,” says Dawson. “We managed to offer snapshots to two thirds of those residents who applied for them. We couldn’t help everyone because it was difficult to borrow a camera when the weather conditions were right. With this grant we’ll always have a camera on hand.”

Cosy Thame ran a feedback session for Thame residents at the town hall in March 2023 to show them the common reasons homes leak heat. You can watch the session here: https://bit.ly/CosyThameFeedback

The grant has been awarded by Low Carbon Hub Oxford. Cosy Thame intends to have a thermal imaging camera available for residents to borrow towards the end of 2023.
