Schools, Youth Clubs and Children’s projects

If you are a local school or organisation that works with children or young people, then there are opportunities for you to get involved in playing your part to make Thame a greener and cleaner place to live.

At the moment these are the ways to get involved

1. 21st Century Thame runs a wide range of projects. Programmes delivered in local schools and youth centres include topics such as hedgehog conservation, tree planting, recycling, reducing carbon footprints, understanding water habitats and cleaner waterways, building bug hotels, The Wild Things Trail and many more. 2. Thame Town Council has recently launched an Air Quality in Schools project. This project will deliver a series of workshops in local schools to help raise awareness of air quality, including outside fieldwork activities using Air Quality monitors. Following this a project will develop a clean air routes to school maps with the children and young people involved, to reduce the students exposure to air pollution. This work is being funded by Section 106 funds for Thame. 3. Become a Plastic Free School or Community Ally as part of the Plastic Free Thame initiative launched in 2025.
