Thame Green Living
Thame Green Living has been working together since 2014, when a small group of people got together under the auspices of the RSA. In 2015, this group was formerly invited, to take the creation of a Green Living Plan forward. A core group of five people came together to lead on the five areas you find in the GLP today. The plan developed with Thame Town Council creating a Green Living Plan working group to support the work, but the majority of the development of the plan was driven by this core group of volunteers. Extensive research and liaison with 3rd parties carried on through to 2018 when the first draft of the plan was consulted on. The consultation brought in a number of new people keen to work on the plan and specialist sub-groups were formed to progress specific areas of the plan. At this point the name ‘Thame Green Living’ was adopted. You can read a more in-depth history of this process, and see more about the people who were involved over the history of the plan here.
Responsibility for the plan’s delivery moved to Thame Town Council following their adoption of the Green Living Plan in July 2020. However Thame Green Living remains active engaging in the Thame Environmental Forum, holding membership in partnership organisations to represent Thame Green Living, keeping Thame Town Council accountable to delivery targets, delivering projects, partnering with other delivery organisations in Thame and even sharing experiences with other locations who are keen to emulate their own version of a Green Living Plan. Below you can see the details of the volunteers who are currently actively involved in TGL:
